Had a great time coming up with the logo for this up-and-coming publisher. The need was for a strong, classic-styled logo that somehow blended the main letters. Obviously C and L are complete opposites in terms of form language seeing as one is round and one is rectangular so there was a lot of initial sketching and working them out, trying to see how they could be meshed together. I decided to go with a unique hybrid of the letters that kept and enhanced the curve of the C while creating a strong L axis down the middle. It uses the stiff top of the L at the top but keeps the smooth curve of the C at the bottom. This also helps illicit the feel of the lower leg of the L.

Check your bookstores, you might just see this little guy one day!
